The Cat in the Hat Birthday Invitations.

I know I said last year that this one was going to be Toy Story themed celebration, but for reasons of destiny we ended up planning my son's second birthday party using a Dr. Seuss them. The so loved and well known Cat in the Hat.  My son and I love it, my husband thinks we are as crazy as the cat, but I do think is funny and awesome. Keep reading for the tutorial.

And to be honest I fell in love first with the movie - I know eekk- but you have to admit is pretty hilarious or at least we really crack up to the wholes thing.

But is not just that I love the character, the rhymes and how amazing the books are. I got the cat in the hat version in my Ipod and is interactive (yay)

So this was our second choice for my son's birthday. Love the colors and how playful you can make this party, lots of crazy ideas. Like this invitation, I wanted to bring some of that craziness and still make something cute. And not just because I made them but I think I achieved it.

As some of you might know we are always doing things in a budget, this wasn't the exception. So I came up with this really affordable idea to create awesome and original party invitations.

You are going to need:
-Hat cutouts (I bought mine at Michael's and they were on sale, yay)
-Red foamy cutouts (A big bigger that the hat so it will pop out)
-The invitation (check below for the printables)
-Silver pipe cleaners
-Blue glitter
-Simple bow (Get the tutorial HERE)
-Kebab sticks or you can use a magnet
-Small photo of your little one
-Number 2 cutout

And this is how you do it:

And here are all the invitations together I loved them. And got a bunch of compliments when I delivered them, yay!

The pipe cleaners makes them a little bit crazy and cute. I do regret not using a magnet, specially for our parents  because I do know they are going to save them.

Hope you like this idea, thanks for reading. I will be posting more tutorials that I made for my sons's birthday.

Now the printable invitations, here is a version of what I used. I made them in two different colors for you, red and blue just click the image and will take you to the download page. I made from number 1 to 9.
