How to make Cloth Diaper Inserts / Como hacer Insertos para Pañales de Tela

Since I got pregnant for the second time I decided to give cloth diapers a try from the beginning. With my first son I started when he was 15 months and I know the importance of having good inserts to us them with but being honest they can be a little pricey to buy a bunch online. This is why I decided to make my own.

I made inserts with different fabrics this time and layers to try their absorbency and compare prices. The fabrics I used are bamboo fleece, microfiber towels, terry cloth and flour sack towels (FST).

And all of them have worked great! I love using the FST for the covers and I don't do use a fancy folding method I just fold them in half until I have the shape I need for the diapers. To help with the absorbency I add a soaker made out of towels. Even though these type of inserts can be thin, they work great to use them during the day.

The inserts I use the most are the ones I made from microfiber towel I bought at Costco, they were 30- 40 towels (I can't remember) for $15. Pretty good deal compared to the price of getting them online. I love that they are absorbent and lightweight at the same time.
I tried them both ways, sewn and folded I love them both ways but drying time wise folded works better specially if you are line hanging them.
